Medical Science Liaison/Senior Medical Science Liaison

Under the direction of the Senior Regional Medical Director/Regional Medical Director the Medical Science Liaison (MSL)/Senior MSL supports Dynavax by advancing scientific and collaborative relationships by acting as a conduit for scientific exchange with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), healthcare entities, payors and formulary committees.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates on efforts to identify KOLs in the region and develop and maintain relationships with them to support Dynavax’s objectives and establish Dynavax as a scientifically credible partner
  • Supports maintaining a Dynavax presence at Congresses and Conferences
  • Identifies opportunities for generation of evidence to support Dynavax’s product portfolio
  • Serves as a resource for education and dissemination of pertinent and balanced scientific information to internal and external audiences such as KOLs, providers, payors, formulary committees
  • Supports the organization in maintaining a work environment focused on quality and that fosters learning, respect, open communication, collaboration, integration, and teamwork.
  • This position may travel up to 70%.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Medical Science Liaison

  • MD, PhD or PharmD preferred (advanced terminal degree acceptable)
  • Vaccines, Infectious Disease, Immunology or Virology experience preferred
  • Industry experience preferred 
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal, written, presentation.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally
  • Effective organization skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with internal and external customers and an ability to influence them
  • Must be self-motivated, enthusiastic, and strive to make a significant impact.
  • Must be creative and flexible when solving problems, and able to encourage and engage input from others.
  • Personal attributes include integrity, flexibility, learning agility, and action- and goal-oriented.

Senior Medical Science Liaison

  • MD, PhD or PharmD preferred (advanced terminal degree acceptable)
  • Vaccines, Infectious Disease, Immunology or Virology experience preferred
  • 2 years’ experience as MSL or relevant industry experience
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully develop and manage KOLs
  • Experience in communications with payors, formulary committees and similar entities
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal, written, presentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally
  • Effective organization skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with internal and external customers and an ability to influence them
  • Must be self-motivated, enthusiastic, and strive to make a significant impact.
  • Must be creative and flexible when solving problems, and able to encourage and engage input from others.
  • Personal attributes include integrity, flexibility, learning agility, and action- and goal-oriented.

Additional knowledge and desirable skills:

  • Experience in public health or medical practice
  • Understanding of vaccine development
  • Knowledge of other therapeutic areas
  • International experience
  • Foreign Language
